The Bowl Runneth Over
Opening Line
So close; so close and yet so far.
I can only blame myself because I am such a pessimist. I knew something would go wrong with the old house and sure enough, just before we left; just before we finished cleaning and were about to leave for the last time, I heard a noise. A water noise. Water noises are never good.
I knew for a fact that since Jaclyn and I were the only ones in the house, nobody could be using any of the bathrooms. Upon investigation I was unfortunately correct. To make a long story short, the filler valve for one of the toilets failed. The entire apparatus blew off from the base of the tank. Luckily I spent five years on a submarine, so the first thing I did was not try to fix it, but to turn off the water. Minimal overflow and what did spill over the tank was quickly mopped up with a few towels.
Damnation...
It is likely a simple fix, but I did not get the plumbing gene. If it had been electrical, sure enough, but at 10:30 at night, after 19 hours of moving and cleaning, I was not about to search out a copy of Plumbing for Dummies and the requisite parts.
Hence, I called the new owner and told her we would gladly pay for a plumber since we were still in the house when it happened.
Blessings counted.
And On the Seventh Day
Rest.
Sunday was my Dad's birthday. I (we) would have liked to have spent more than just a few hours with him, but Jaclyn and I were spent. After a nice lunch, we had to call it a day. Or rather call it a nap.
And nap we did. Nothing got done in the apartment yesterday. In fact, the only thing other than sleep happening yesterday was a quick trip to the new house, where they will be pouring the foundation this week (weather permitting).
Challenge
Week Three of the Hundred Push Up Challenge started off with more of a wimper than a bang. Jaclyn and I each slogged through the minimum number of push ups and called it a day. No bonus push ups this time around. I still have to be satisfied with pumping out 78 push ups, although I was close to not making it through more than a few sets.

I just re-tested myself for week 3 and I'm happy to report that I pretty much have the guns of He-Man.

Bummer on the hours. I need to catch up. I take it you're moving? Exciting times.

Happy birthday to your dad. My dad's birthday was Sunday too. We had a fun celebration of his milestone 70th. Good think you caught the toilet issue in time. Those have been know to flood houses. Ask my brother.
