Suck It
Opening Line
DirecTV sucks throbbing animal cock.
My apologies to those who may take offense at the composition of the above statement, but I REALLY wanted to get my point across.
I called DirecTV this morning to cancel our service and they tell me I have an obligation through January of 2010 and will need to pay a 225.00 penalty. WTF? The issue is that several years ago, we upgraded to an HD Receiver. This was during the time that DirecTV was moving away from Tivo and peddling their own equipment. The only option was to lease the equipment and with the lease came a two year committment. No problem, right? Wrong. Every time they replace one of their piece of crap receivers, the two year committment starts all over again. Hello! Your hardware is akin to a steamy pile of donkey dung and because of your inability design a simple piece of technology that Tivo, Dish and others seem to have mastered relatively easily, I get hosed.
The last time we had to have a receiver replaced was January of this year and of course, even though the original receiver was leased well over two years ago, our committment started all over again. This makes sense on what planet?
Note to DirecTV, I will NOT ever be using your service EVER again. And wait until you hear what I tell my friends or anyone else who asks.
This is not over yet.
Challenge
The 100 Push Up Challenge gets harder each session (obviously). However, I was able to push out an extra five this morning during my last set. I fear this will not be a trend though.

How do you really feel about DirecTV? I couldn't tell from you post. My advice, if you are in a service area for them, go with Uverse from AT&T. The best. Love it. If not, don't know what to tell you. Good luck?

Geez...that's almost as bad as a cell phone contract!!
FIGHT THE MAN, JD!!!

Here, here! I can't stand DirecTV, they have the worst customer service, their HD and DVR equipment is beyond awful and so far behind the competition that it'a a freakin' joke! Unfortunately, they are the only ones who carry the the NFL Sunday Ticket and can guarantee that I get to watch my team every Sunday, which means that I'm still with them, bending over and taking what they're giving just so I can watch football 16 weeks out of the year.

LOL- I thought I am the only one who talks like that around here...
Tell them to shove their contract up their ass!

OK... my Irish is up! I would demand to see the contract that states that you agreed to an additional 2 years with the new equipment and/or they need to produce a verbal recording of you agreeing to it.
I hate the MAN. Uverse is great! We switched a few months ago and have had no problems.
You tell them it's a good thing they are dealing with you and not the likes of me!!! lol
And you might want to mention that you're a good way through the push-up challenge... that'll scare 'em!
