Opening Line

My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.

Wisdom is in the air, thanks to the late, great, Mitch Hedburg.

Good Luck

Our new friend is Stanley. Stanley is a grasshopper and a gift from Susan, one of Jaclyn's co-workers. He is meant to be a good luck charm for building a new house. I don't know the backstory, but I will accept it at face value. When in doubt, play the superstition card.

We take him over every time we visit our construction site and place him somewhere he has not been.

We have a picture of him, but it is blurry; a testament to the heat of the day (sure, buy that explanation for a buck). We'll get one posted soon enough.

But now, for the thrill of it, a shot of our slab from the backyward.

I know, a pure adrenaline rush. Many of you are beside yourselves. Settle down.

Seth, our GC, tells us that framing begins next Thursday. Jaclyn says that is my birthday present. Um, happy birthday to me...
