Seabrook
I will begin by saying that my wife and I have decided not to do this one again.
The good news is that while the runs were not that terrific, both my wife and I met our goals. Her goal was to run seven miles without having to walk. She made it to nine. Good job Sweetie! My goal was to take it easy and finish around 2:13:00. My official chip time was 2:09:13 - that would be a PR.
Before anyone gets all excited about a PR, keep in mind that my only other half marathon was this year at Disney World. When you start at the back of a group of 16,000 people, you are not going to have a good time. I think I was around 2:53 and change.
The most telling thing about this half marathon is that my feet hurt. My feet really hurt. More so than after running a marathon. My wife feels that same way.
I also feel bad for not hanging around and cheering. There were runners from Houston Fit, The Knuckleheads and Houston Running Bloggers all out representing. I saw Holden Choi and I believe Steve Bezner of HRB. Bob Entwistle (HouFit and the Limey Way) was also out running the full.
There was some a little more fun than I have alluded to. I got to hang with several members of the Cheetahs for a few miles. The Cheetahs are a group of married women out of Pearland, who have a great time running together. And let me just say that they pretty much tell it like it is. I may expound later; I may not.
Perhaps some more later, but my feet need a good soaking.

Congrats to you and Jaclyn. Nice PR! Hmmm ... 45 seconds better!
I scratched for today. No sense doing the tough guy routine. Washington state will still be here to do another half. I'm getting cleaned up and am going to head down to Eugene and maybe run on the vaunted Pre's Trail.

Hmmm ... what if the Cheetahs were bloggers?!

Good to see you and Jaclyn today! I must say, I was looking forward to the asphalt sections. Perhaps my ankles were not strong enough to run the trails.
See you at the Blue Bell. I'm too tired to blog tonight.

Nice race for both of you.
It was hot out there, you earned those medals.
